Fiesta de la Huerta 2017

By Elizabeth Hall

fiesta17_3We couldn’t be more excited to tell you ALL about the AMAZING time we had at this year’s Fiesta de la Huerta! Thank you everyone who attended for making our celebration so delightful!

With your help, we raised enough to fund science class supplies for all six of our schools for an entire year of Seed to Table as well as underwrite the cost of kitchen supplies for 1 school for a year. Fiesta 2017 was truly an afternoon to remember! You can view all the photos from fiesta on GSF’s facebook.

We had so much FUN planting tomato seeds at the Home Grown potting station, whipping up fresh smoothies with our bike blenders, and showing off our GSF LOVE at the photobooth! We’re so grateful to all our inspired volunteers and interns for helping make Fiesta ’17 so magical!

This year’s Fiesta de la Huerta was made possible with generous donations from Califia Farms, DaVita, the Jill and John Walsh Foundation, Paragon Jams, Food Forward, Eat the Ball Bread, Roots Hummus, and ZICO Coconut Water. Entertainment was provided by Bailey Thompson.

We were delighted to offer so many great raffle items from Cycle House, Dos Gallos Furniture Company, Grow Oya, Honest Company, Moonwater Farms, Lucky Strike Bowling, Native Shoes, Salt & Straw, Alexa Palmer & Catharine Kaufman, In Show Playroom, Eco Caters, and Mexicano Restaurant with Chefs Jaime & Ramiro.
